We successfully completed an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) project for Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam, which went live in December 2021. This comprehensive solution encompasses an Operational Command Centre which enables tracking of traffic management, speed violation detection system, Adaptive Traffic Control System, city wi-fi, PA and ECB, Public Address System, Variable Message Displays and field connectivity.

Our solution delivered a 60% average reduction in travelling time and traffic congestion. There was a major shift in traffic discipline of Gorakhpur citizens due to deployment of this system and awareness programmes.
The system entailed 21 fully-operational ATCS signals in various patterns. The left lane remained free and three separate corridors were strategically created and configured for junction-to-junction synchronisation in the offline as well as online mode.
Continuous announcements were made regarding public safety and the importance of wearing a helmet via the public address system from the control room
12,000+ e-challans were generated using the system for “No helmet detection”
Various traffic police drives and awareness campaigns were posted at junctions.
There was a reduction in ‘No helmet e-challans’ month after month, which reflected better awareness and compliance
A green corridor junction was configured in the ATCS system between the district hospital and the BRD medical college. The travel time was reduced from 45 minutes to 12 minutes on this segment.
20+ successful life-saving green corridors were created using the ITMS system from the control room. This saved many lives including three people who suffered snake bites.
Using an Emergency Call Button installed at various locations enabled citizens to interact with the ITMS control centre
25+ crimes were detected and important evidence could be provided using the ITMS system to resolve these cases within 24 hours
10+ potential theft and blacklisted vehicle alerts were generated and three vehicles were successfully recovered
The ITMS ANPR/RLVD system helped in 50+ crime case investigations, utilising evidence from the system
On the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence a unique event was organised using the ITMS System. All ATCS junctions were put in red mode for 5 minutes between 8:57 and 9:02 am. As a result, the entire city came to a standstill across all 21 junctions, and the national anthem was played through the public address system at all these junctions from the ITMS Control Room at 9am to celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day Anniversary at Gorakhpur.
